What your project manager does

On a large move, the mover's project manager is the person who keeps everyone else on time. Ours:

Surveys every site and agrees the scope with you
Builds the move plan, phase by phase
Coordinates building managers, IT providers, furniture suppliers and cleaners
Books lifts, loading bays and parking at every building
Briefs your staff on packing and labelling
Leads the crews on site and reports progress every day
Signs off each phase with you before the next starts

How we plan a phased move

Discovery. Survey every building, count workstations and equipment, record access rules.
Plan. A written office relocation project plan with phases, dates, crew numbers and a risk assessment to BS 8522.
Prepare. Crates, labels and floor plans issued. Staff briefed. Suppliers booked.
Move in phases. Each phase moved, rebuilt and signed off, on weekdays or on Saturdays on request.
Close out. Old buildings cleared, crates collected, final report issued.

Multi-site moves

When you are moving several teams between several buildings, the plan matters more than the vans. We run multi-site moves as one programme, with a daily report you can forward to your board.

Healthcare settings: we have moved medical equipment and beds for the NHS, using cleaned crates, Saturday working on request and patient-area protocols

What is move management?

Move management is the planning and coordination of a relocation by one person, from survey to sign-off. On a large move, the move manager coordinates crews, suppliers, building managers and your staff so every phase happens on time.

Do I need a project manager for an office move?

For anything beyond a small office, yes. A project manager plans the phases, books access at every building and keeps suppliers on schedule, which is where most large moves go wrong. Every Caledonia commercial move includes one.

How long does it take to plan a large office move?

Allow 8 to 12 weeks for a large or multi-site move, and longer if it depends on building work finishing. We can work to tighter deadlines when the scope is clear.

Can you move several sites at once?

Yes. We run multi-site moves as one programme with phased dates and a daily progress report.

What documents do you provide for procurement?

Risk assessments and method statements, insurance certificates, BS 8522, ISO 9001 and Workplace Relocation Group certificates, and a written move plan.

How big a move can you handle?

Our largest recent commercial move was Bells Sports Centre in Perth, which took three full truck loads. We have 4 removal trucks, 4 removal vans, 2 survey vans and 15 trained staff.
