Internal office moves

An internal move is any move inside your premises or between your own sites. Facilities teams use different names for it:

Restack: moving teams between floors to make better use of space
Churn: the regular desk and team changes in a growing business
Department move: relocating one team while everyone else keeps working
Decant: moving people out of an area so it can be refurbished, then moving them back

Whatever you call it, the challenge is the same: keep everyone working while desks, cabinets and equipment change places. We plan each internal move floor by floor, label everything to a new floor plan and schedule the heavy work around your team, or on a Saturday on request, so your staff arrive to desks that are ready.

Saturday work, on request

Internal moves and installations can happen while your building is quiet. Book a Saturday and your team leaves on Friday and comes back on Monday to a finished floor.

What is an internal office move?

An internal office move is any move inside your own premises or between your own sites, such as moving a team to another floor. We plan it, label everything to a new floor plan and schedule the work around your team.

What is a restack?

A restack is a reorganisation of teams across the floors of a building to use space better. It usually involves moving desks, storage and equipment for several departments in a planned sequence.

Can you move desks without disrupting staff?

Yes. We plan internal moves around your working day, and Saturday work is available on request, so staff finish one day and start the next at their new desks.

Do you install new office furniture?

Yes. We install desks, storage, meeting tables and breakout furniture, and we can clear the old furniture in the same visit.

Do you work for furniture dealers?

Yes. We can receive, store and install furniture for dealers and manufacturers across Scotland. The installation is carried out by our own Caledonia crews.

Can new furniture be delivered to you first?

Yes. Suppliers can deliver to our Perth warehouse, where we check it in and store it until your site is ready.

What happens to our old furniture?

We reuse, donate or recycle it wherever possible, and issue a waste transfer note for anything disposed of.
